Disclosures & Disclaimer
Last updated 11 September 2026
Read this first. StockRiot publishes measurements of public social-media activity about stocks. It is not investment advice, not a recommendation, and not tailored to you. Social-media attention is not a measure of a company’s value or prospects, and high retail attention frequently coincides with the late stage of a price move. Trading small-capitalization and low-priced securities can result in the total loss of your capital. We may be compensated by issuers or third parties for investor-awareness services, and where that is the case we disclose it on the specific content involved.
1. Ownership
StockRiot (stockriot.com) is owned and operated by Stock Ships LLC, a Florida limited liability company with a mailing address of 1007 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, United States. Our domain registration is public and lists Stock Ships LLC as registrant.
Related publications
Stock Ships LLC owns and operates the following financial publications in addition to StockRiot. Each is run as an independent editorial product:
- stockships.com — small-cap research and trading signals
- buybackstocks.com — corporate share-repurchase tracking
Additional properties may be launched by Stock Ships LLC; this list is maintained as current. Stock Ships LLC is a separate legal entity from PSU Media LLC, which operates Penny Stocks United and is not affiliated with StockRiot.
2. No investment advice
Stock Ships LLC is not a registered broker-dealer, investment adviser, or financial planner, and is not registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, FINRA, or any state securities regulator in any such capacity.
Nothing published on StockRiot constitutes:
- a recommendation, solicitation, or offer to buy or sell any security;
- personalized investment advice, or advice that considers your objectives, financial situation, time horizon, or risk tolerance;
- legal, tax, or accounting advice;
- a representation that any security is suitable for you.
A Riot Score is not a rating. It measures how unusual a stock’s retail chatter is relative to that stock’s own recent history. It contains no assessment of the company’s financial condition, management, prospects, or valuation, and a high score must not be read as a positive signal of any kind. See our methodology for the full construction.
You are solely responsible for your own trading decisions. You should consult a licensed financial professional and conduct your own due diligence, including reading an issuer’s filings on SEC EDGAR, before buying or selling any security.
3. Compensation and Section 17(b)
Stock Ships LLC and its affiliates receive compensation for advertising, sponsorship, and investor-awareness services from public companies, their agents, shareholders, and third parties. This is how the publication is funded.
Our disclosure rule. Where any StockRiot content concerns a security in connection with which Stock Ships LLC or an affiliate has been, is being, or will be compensated, we disclose on that content itself: the identity of the payer, the amount and form of consideration, and the nature and duration of the engagement. This disclosure appears on the content in question — at the top of the article, email, or board entry — and not solely on this page. This is our practice under Section 17(b) of the Securities Act of 1933.
4. Board integrity
Because a sentiment board owned by a company that also performs investor-awareness work presents an obvious conflict, we state our controls explicitly:
- Placement is not for sale. Position on the Riot Score board is generated from measured data. It cannot be purchased, and no payment of any kind affects a score.
- No advance notice. No issuer, agent, or paying party receives advance notice of board output, nor any ability to review, delay, suppress, or alter it.
- Entry-level disclosure. If a security appears on the board and Stock Ships LLC or an affiliate has a compensated relationship touching that security, the compensation is disclosed on that board entry, in both the on-site board and the email edition.
- No suppression either way. A compensated relationship does not cause a ticker to be added to the board, and does not cause a ticker to be removed from it. The measurement runs the same regardless.
5. Securities positions
Stock Ships LLC, its members, officers, contractors, and affiliates may hold, buy, or sell positions in securities mentioned on StockRiot. Positions may be taken or closed at any time, including before, during, or after coverage or a compensated engagement, and may be inconsistent with anything published. Where a compensated engagement involves a right to receive or sell securities of the covered issuer, that fact is disclosed on the relevant content.
6. Risk disclosure
StockRiot covers small-capitalization and micro-capitalization securities by design. Our scored universe is US-listed companies below approximately $2 billion in market capitalisation, with the majority of coverage below $300 million. As a class these are the highest-risk listed equities available to retail investors. Trading them involves substantial risk of loss, and the following risks apply directly to everything we cover:
- Attention-driven securities are, by definition, moving on factors unrelated to the underlying business. There is no fundamental floor under a price supported by attention, and attention can end without warning or notice.
- Late-stage attention. Peak retail attention has historically clustered at or near the end of a price move. Acting on a high Riot Score exposes you to being the last buyer.
- Dilution. Sharp moves in small-cap securities are frequently accompanied by registered offerings, at-the-market programs, or convertible financings that can substantially dilute existing shareholders, sometimes by orders of magnitude.
- Illiquidity. Low-priced and small-capitalization securities can be illiquid and subject to wide bid-ask spreads. Exiting a position at your intended price may not be possible, and in the smallest names it may not be possible at any price you would accept.
- Delisting and going-concern risk. Small-cap and micro-cap issuers are materially more likely than larger companies to fail exchange listing standards, to disclose going-concern doubt, or to cease operations entirely.
- Trading halts. Securities may be halted by an exchange or suspended by the SEC, during which you cannot exit a position, and may reopen substantially lower.
- Manipulation. Social-media enthusiasm about a security can be manufactured. Coordinated promotional campaigns are designed to look exactly like organic retail interest, and our filters reduce but do not eliminate that possibility.
You may lose the entire amount of your investment. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Any performance figure, historical example, or hypothetical result discussed on this site is illustrative only and does not represent the returns of any actual account.
7. Nature and limits of the data
StockRiot’s scores are derived from publicly visible posts on third-party social platforms and forums. You should understand the following about that data:
- It reflects what people said, not what they did. Posts are not trades, and claimed positions are unverified.
- It is not a representative sample of investors, of shareholders of any issuer, or of the market.
- Source platforms change their availability, terms, and volume over time, which can affect coverage and comparability between periods.
- Automated sentiment classification is imperfect, particularly with irony and sarcasm.
- Illustrative scores, sample boards, and design examples shown on this site are labelled as such and do not represent live or historical measurements.
8. Forward-looking statements
Content on StockRiot may contain forward-looking statements within the meaning of Section 27A of the Securities Act of 1933 and Section 21E of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 — statements about expectations, projections, or future events. Such statements are subject to risks and uncertainties and actual results may differ materially. We undertake no obligation to update forward-looking statements.
9. Accuracy and corrections
Information is compiled from sources we believe reliable, including public social platforms, SEC EDGAR, and commercial market-data providers. We do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness, and it is provided on an “as is” basis. Automated data pipelines can and do produce errors. Corrections are published on the affected page with a dated correction note; we do not silently edit or delete published boards.
10. Third-party advertising and links
This site and our emails may carry advertising served by third parties. Advertisements are not endorsements, and we do not verify the claims made in third-party advertising. Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience; we do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for third-party content. Evaluate any advertised offer independently.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stock Ships LLC and its members, officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including trading losses, arising from your use of or reliance on StockRiot.
